SAUDI-ARABIA: THE LAND OF SHIRK AND KUFR

In the name of Allah the most beneficent, the most merciful.

Saudi Arabia was founded in 1932 by an idol worshipper known as Abdul-Azeez bn Abdirahman al-Saud after killing all the leaders of the Mujahideen known as Ikhwan man ataa’ lloh (not the deviant Ikhwan from Egypt) who helped him to conquer the Arabian peninsula.
Saudi Arabia should not be confused with two other states popularly known as *”First Saudi State and Second Saudi State”* – their real names were actually *”Islamic State” or “Imaaratu dir’iyyah al-Islaamiyyah”* ie. Islamic Emirate of Dir’iyyah led by the Imaams and revivers like Muhammad bn Sauud, Muhammad bn AbdilWahaab, Sulayman bn Muhammad bn AbdilWahaab etc. May Allah have mercy upon them.

So, when the Ulamaa’ of tawheed praise the Saudi state, they are actually talking about the ones led by Muslims and when they criticize it, they are actually talking about the one led by idol worshippers.

The Shirk and Kufr of this state are many to mention but few:

1. There is widespread quburiyyah (tawaaf around graves) especially in Abwah where the grave of prophet Muhammad’s mother is rumoured to be.

2. There are shirk centers (husayniyaat for Shia), as at 2005, there was nothing less than 25 shia shrines within the Medinah of prophet Muhammad sollallohu alayhi wasallam alone excluding those in the southern provinces.

3. There is celebration of Kufr festivals openly eg. Shia ashuraa etc.

4. They make istihlaal of riba (interest), etc. in their law.

5. There is celebration of maulid nabiyy inside the prophet’s mosque

6. There is call to Wahdatul adyaan (interfaith) and in fact it is the greatest sponsor and the founder of the new religion called *Kaiciid*

7. There is promotion and preservation of idols and preservation of shirki centers.

8. There are Churches and Synagogues widespread around the birth place of the companions of rasuululloh sollallohu alayhi wasallam.

9. The Christians and Jews live there in millions of numbers without paying the Jizyah.

To mention but few, may Allah curse this state, make it easy for the Muslims to invade just as the states of Banu Ubayd, Uthmaniyoon, and the Tartaar were invaded and may Allah liberate the Muslims therein. May Allah make its conquest an easy one.

Refutation of Sayyid Qutub on the Issue of Slavery

Refutation of Sayyid Qutub (rahimahulloh) on the Issue of Slavery by Sheikh Saalih Fawzaan.

SLAVERY IS PART AND PARCEL OF ISLAM

In the name of Allah the most beneficent the most merciful.

Sayyid Qutb said concerning slavery, “And concerning the slaves, that was when slavery was a world-wide structure and which was conducted among the Muslims and their enemies in the form of enslaving of prisoners of war. And it was necessary for Islam to adopt a similar line of practise until the world devised a new code of practice, other than enslavement.”

Questioner: respected Sheikh, one of the contemporary writers is of the view that this religion, at its inception, was compelled to accept the institution of slavery of the days of ignorance.”

Shaikh Salih al-Fawzaan (interrupts): “I seek refuge in Allaah”

Questioner: [Completing his question] “However, he has come from the angle that the doors to the various expiations and other matters which involve the liberation of slaves should be opened (i.e. that these affairs should be encouraged) gradually, until slavery finally ends. And following on from this, that the intent of the Legislator is to gradually end this institution of slavery. So what is your view on this?”

Shaikh Salih al-Fawzaan: ” These are words of falsehood (baatil) and refuge is from Allaah despite the fact that many of the writers and thinkers and we do not say scholars – repeat these words. Rather we say that they are thinkers (mufakkireen), just as they call them. And it is unfortunate, that they also call them Duat (callers). And this (type of statement) is found in the tafsir of Sayyid Qutb in Dhilaal ul-Quraaan. He says, “Islam does not affirm slavery, but it only allowed it to remain out of fear that the people may turn to despotism, that they may disapprove of its abolition since they had been accustomed to it. Hence Islaam has allowed it to continue out of courtesy to the people” Meaning, as if Allaah was being courteous to the people, and then he alluded to its gradual removal until it is completely finished. These words are falsehood and (constitute) deviation (ilhaad) and refuge is from Allah. This is deviation and a false accusation against Islam. And if it had not been for the excuse of ignorance [because] we excuse them on account of (their) ignorance, so we do not say that they are unbelievers because they are ignorant and are blind followers who have merely quoted this saying without reflecting upon it, hence we excuse them on account of ignorance. Otherwise, these statements are very dangerous and if a person said them deliberately he would become apostate and leave Islaam.
However, we say that they are ignorant people because they are but literary writers who have not learnt the knowledge. So they found this statement and rejoiced on account of it and then refuted the Unbelievers by it.
Since the Unbelievers say that Islaam empowers some people (over others) and that it enslaves the people and it is this, it is that. So they intended to refute them with this ignorance. And when the ignoramus refutes the enemy then he only increases the enemy in evil and hence the enemy holds more tightly to his falsehood. Refutation occurs by way of knowledge. It does not occur by way of sentiments or by ignorance. Rather it occurs by knowledge and evidence. Otherwise, it is obligatory for a person to remain quiet and not to speak in dangerous matters about which he has no knowledge. So these words are falsehood and whoever says them deliberately then he is an Unbeliever. As for the one who says them out of ignorance or due to blind following (of others), then he is to be excused due to his ignorance. And ignorance is a killing catastrophe and refuge is from Allaah. Islam has affirmed slavery and slavery is ancient and existed prior to Islaam and was present in the revealed religions prior to it. And it will continue so long as Jihad in the path of Allah exists.”

Refutation of Sulaimon Amubieya on his false claim of weakness

Question:
Assalam alaykum waramatullah. I want your contribution to this.

Sulaimon Amubieya in Ibadan said in his series of his Jihad tafsir that we cannot do jihad against the Kuffār because:

  1. They are powerful than us technological wise and militarily
  2. The current rulers in the Muslim Country have signed a truce with the Kuffār which is binding on us to obey
  3. That Osama bin laden created all the chaos occurring in Iraq and Afghanistan today due his disobedience to the truce as described above.

Answer:
All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and the good end is for the pious, let there be no aggression but against the wrongdoers.

ﻟَﻘَﺪِ ﺍﺑْﺘَﻐَﻮُﺍ ﺍﻟْﻔِﺘْﻨَﺔَ ﻣِﻦ ﻗَﺒْﻞُ ﻭَﻗَﻠَّﺒُﻮﺍ ﻟَﻚَ ﺍﻟْﺄُﻣُﻮﺭَ ﺣَﺘَّﻰٰ ﺟَﺎﺀَ ﺍﻟْﺤَﻖُّ ﻭَﻇَﻬَﺮَ ﺃَﻣْﺮُ ﺍﻟﻠَّﻪِ ﻭَﻫُﻢْ ﻛَﺎﺭِﻫُﻮﻥَ

“They had already desired dissension before and had upset matters for you until the truth came and the ordinance of Allah appeared, while they were averse.”​​

At first, Amubiaya is not from Ahlus Sunnah, rather he is a Suufi in manhaj. Attributing himself to Salafiyyah might be because of his pervasive unawareness of what Salafiyyah is or something else wa llaahu A’lam.

I don’t know if he has a ​power meter​ which he used to determine how powerful the kuffaar are compared to the Muslims ​all over the world​. However, weakness of Muslims does not stop Jihaad for Jihaad is an obligation and the means to fulfilling an obligation is also an obligation. The scholars would say:

ما لا يتم الواجب إلا به فهو واجب

​”That without which an obligation cannot be fulfilled is itself an obligation.”​

Muslims cannot just seat back because there is no enough power, rather the means of getting the power is obligatory…which is ​”preparation.”​ And this does not stop waging jihaad with the tongue, which includes inciting the believers to participate in and to support the Jihaad against the enemies of at-Tawhiid. It also involves waging propaganda campaigns, the aim of which is to weaken the enemy by demonizing him in the eyes of the masses and, in turn, diminishing his popular support.

Allah the Most High says,

ﻭَﺃَﻋِﺪُّﻭﺍ ﻟَﻬُﻢْ ﻣَﺎ ﺍﺳْﺘَﻄَﻌْﺘُﻢْ ﻣِﻦْ ﻗُﻮَّﺓٍ ﻭَﻣِﻦْ ﺭِﺑَﺎﻁِ ﺍﻟْﺨَﻴْﻞِ ﺗُﺮْﻫِﺒُﻮﻥَ ﺑِﻪِ ﻋَﺪُﻭَّ ﺍﻟﻠَّﻪِ ﻭَﻋَﺪُﻭَّﻛُﻢْ ﻭَﺁﺧَﺮِﻳﻦَ ﻣِﻦْ ﺩُﻭﻧِﻬِﻢْ ﻟَﺎ ﺗَﻌْﻠَﻤُﻮﻧَﻬُﻢُ ﺍﻟﻠَّﻪُ ﻳَﻌْﻠَﻤُﻬُﻢْ ۚ ﻭَﻣَﺎ ﺗُﻨْﻔِﻘُﻮﺍ ﻣِﻦْ ﺷَﻲْﺀٍ ﻓِﻲ ﺳَﺒِﻴﻞِ ﺍﻟﻠَّﻪِ ﻳُﻮَﻑَّ ﺇِﻟَﻴْﻜُﻢْ ﻭَﺃَﻧْﺘُﻢْ ﻟَﺎ ﺗُﻈْﻠَﻤُﻮﻥَ

​​”And prepare against them whatever you are able of power and of steeds of war by which you may terrify the enemy of Allah and your enemy and others besides them whom you do not know [but] whom Allah knows. And whatever you spend in the cause of Allah will be fully repaid to you, and you will not be wronged.”​​

Shaykhul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله, with regard to this Aayah, said:

“يجب الاستعداد للجهاد بإعداد القوة ورباط الخيل في وقت سقوطه للعجز؛ فإن ما لا يتم الواجب إلا به فهو واجب.” (مجموعة الفتاوى: 28/259)

“Preparation for al-Jihaad is compulsory, (and is done) by preparing (whatever one can of) Quwwah and tethered horses, during the period in which it is suspended due to weakness. ​Verily, that which is required in order to fulfill an obligation is in itself an obligation​”
​(Majmuu’atul-Fataawaa: 28/259)​

And Allah says,

ﻛَﻢْ ﻣِﻦْ ﻓِﺌَﺔٍ ﻗَﻠِﻴﻠَﺔٍ ﻏَﻠَﺒَﺖْ ﻓِﺌَﺔً ﻛَﺜِﻴﺮَﺓً ﺑِﺈِﺫْﻥِ ﺍﻟﻠَّﻪِ ﻭَﺍﻟﻠَّﻪُ ﻣَﻊَ ﺍﻟﺼَّﺎﺑِﺮِﻳﻦَ
​​

”How oft, by Allah’s will, has a small force vanquished a big one? Allah is with those who steadfastly persevere.”​​

So victory does not depend on power but on ​Eemaan​ then power. How many were Muslims who fought the battle of Badr?!

Relying on power is destruction! Remember what happened during the battle of Hunayn:

​​”Allah has already given you victory in many regions and [even] on the day of Hunayn, when your great number pleased you, but it did not avail you at all, and the earth was confining for you with its vastness; then you turned back, fleeing.”​​

Moreover, which Muslim rulers signed the truce?! Obviously there is presently no single Islamic country let alone having Muslim rulers. And if there is, then it is still invalid for a truce is just for a limited period of time. Then how could a nonexistent or invalid truce said to be broken?!

All these lies were invented due to people’s natural dislike for Jihaad and their excessiveness in the love of dunyaa, following the footstep of the munaafiqeen in the time of the messenger salla llaah alayhi wa sallam.

Allah knows best. I hope I’ve sufficiently answered your question. The issue of Jihaad is wide and people have said a lot about it but what’s most important is knowledge of tawheed and sincerity.

و​الذين جاهدوا فينا لنهدينهم سبلنا​

Wa salla llaah wa baarak ala Muhammad wa aalihi wa sahbihi wa sallam.

The Shirk of the Alarowiyyeen (Alaroists)

THE SHIRK OF THE ALAROWIYYEEN

All praise is due to Allaah the Lord of all that exists, (indeed) the end is for the Muttaqeen (the pious), and let there be no aggression except against the wrongdoers. And may blessings and peace be upon the most noble of the Messengers.

The south-west Nigeria today is under fitan (trials), one of which is the fitnah of the Jabatis who introduced harmful ‘Aqeedah into the religion of Allaah and the most harmful of their innovations is the ‘Aqeedah that all bid’ah is shirk and all innovators are idol worshippers. Another fitnah is those of the Atheist IKhwanis (TMC & MSSN) whose beliefs are Shirk and atheism. Another fitnah is those of the Alarowiyyuun, AbdurRazzaaq Alaro and his followers and the Alfas who share the same ideology with him, they are those who erroneously assert that they are following the Salaf, and thus call themselves “Salafis” whereas they’ve entered into the religion of the idol worshippers and they’ve exited the fold of Islam.

It should be known that someone could possibly attribute Sunnah and Salafiyyah to himself while he is actually an idol worshipper. Shaykhul Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allaah have mercy on him) said after mentioning the hadeeth of the Khawaarij, he said:

فإذا كان على عهد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وخلفائه ممن انتسب إلى الإسلام من مرق منه مع عبادته العظيمة، حتى أمر صلى الله عليه وسلم بقتالهم، فيعلم أن المنتسب إلى الإسلام أو السنة قد يمرق أيضا من الإسلام في هذه الأزمان. وذلك بأسباب: منها الغلو الذي ذمه الله في كتابه حيث يقول: {يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لا تَغْلُوا فِي دِينِكُمْ}

Meaning, “If there were those who attributed Islam to themselves, during the era of the Messenger (salla llaahu ‘alayihi wa sallam) and the era of his Caliphs, and they went out of it despite their steadfastness in acts of Ibaadah, that the Messenger (salla llaahu ‘alayihi wa sallam) even enjoined that they should be fought, it is therefore known that someone who attributes Islam and Sunnah to himself today can also go out of it for several reasons: one of which is the excessiveness that Allaah condemned in His Book where He says: {O people of the Book (Christians and Jews), exceed not the limit in your religion.}” End Quote [See Ar- Risaalah As-Saniyyah الرسالة السنية]

The Shirk and Kufr of these Alfas and their followers is due to their excessiveness in the love of Dunya. I will present, with the help of Allah, the most harmful of their Kufr and Shirk alongside with their evidence. By so doing, their false claim of Sunnah and Salafiyyah shall become obvious and vivid. In shaa’a llaah this discussion will be of benefit to everyone who wants to understand the truth of the matter.

KUFR 1: AUTHENTICATING DEMOCRACY AND PARTICIPATING IN THE RELIGION OF THE IDOL WORSHIPPERS
تصحيح الدموقراطية والمشاركة في دين المشركين

These Alfas authenticate democracy and participate in it. And Bilal Asra’ authored a book in which he justified partial participation in the religion of the Mushrikeen. Allaah the Most High says:
“Or do they have partners legislating for them a religion for which Allaah has not granted any permission?” [Ash-Shuura: 21]

Imam Ash-Shanqeeti says:
“… associating partners with Allah in His Rule is the same as associating partners with Him in His worship. Regarding His Rule He said: [and He makes none to share in His Rule] (Al-kahf: 26) …
Concerning associating partners with Him in His worship, He said: [so whoever hopes for the meeting with his Lord, let him work righteousness and associate none as a partner in the worship of his Lord] (Al-Kahf: 110) (Adwaa’ul-Bayaan)

Shaykh Saalih Fawzaan said:

الدموقراطية مذهب الكفرة

“Democracy is the way of the disbelievers.”

And Abu Muhammad ‘Aasim said in his book “Democracy; A religion:”

وبيّنا أن الديمقراطية دين غير دين الله وملّة غير ملّة التوحيد، وأنَّ مجالسها النيابية ليست إلا صروحاً للشرك ومعاقل للوثنية يجب اجتنابها لتحقيق التوحيد الذي هو حق الله على العبيد بل والسعي لهدمها ومُعاداة أوليائها وبُغضهم وجهادهُم… وأنَّ هذا ليس أمراً اجتهادياً كما يحلو لبعض الملبِّسين أن يجعلوه… بل هو شركٌ واضحٌ مستبين وكفرٌ بواحٌ صراح قد حذر الله تعالى منه في محكم تنزيله، وحاربه المصطفى صلى الله عليه وسلم طيلة حياته…

Meaning:
“And we showed that democracy is a religion. But it is not Allah’s religion. It is not the religion of (Tawheed) monotheism, and its parliamentary councils are just places of shirk (polytheism), and safe havens for pagan beliefs. All of these must be avoided to achieve Tawheed, which is Allah’s right upon His servants. And we hasten to its destruction, and we must take their followers as enemies – hate them and wage a great Jihad against them. And this is not a matter of Ijtihaad (intellectual exercise) as some liars painted it.
Democracy is an obvious Shirk and thus a clear Kufr that Allah has warned us against, in His Book. And His Messenger (salallaahu ‘alayhi wa’sallam) attacked such taaghuut (false deities) throughout his life.”

By authoring this book (Participation of Muslims in Elections with Non-Muslims), Pastor Bilal Asrau who is also a member of the Alarowiyyah sect has committed apostasy from the religion of Allah. Sheikhul Islam Ibn Taymiyyah also said about one of those who authored a book to justify partial participation in the religion of the Mushrikuun:

ثم تجد كثيرا من رءوسهم وقعوا في هذه الأنواع فكانوا مرتدين…وأبلغ من ذلك أن منهم من صنف في دين المشركين والردة عن الإسلام كما صنف الرازي كتابه في عبادة الكواكب، وأقام الأدلة على حسن ذلك ومنفعته ورغب فيه، وهذه ردة عن الإسلام باتفاق المسلمين. انتهى كلامه

“Then you see that most of their leaders fell into these categories, so they became apostates… and the most serious of it is that some of them authored books on the religion of the Mushrikeen and apostasy from Islam just as Ar-Raazi authored a book on star worship, and justified it with evidences, claimed that there is worldly benefit in it and exhorted (people) to it, and this is apostasy from Islam by the consensus of the Muslims.” [See Mufeedul Mustafeed fii Kufri Taarikit Tawheed]

This is similar to what pastor Asrau did and it is apostasy from the religion of Islam.

KUFR 2: EXHORTING THE MUSLIMS TO OBEY THE TAWAAGHEET

These Alfas exhort the Muslims to obey the tawaagheet whom Allaah enjoined us to boycott, hate and take as enemies. Despite their awareness that Sultaan of sokoto is the overall leader of the Sufi Qadriyyah tariqah, they still assert that he is the leader (Waliyyul Amr) of the Nigerian Muslims who oversees the affairs of the Muslims and must be obeyed. And despite their awareness that Muhammad Buhari attends thanks giving church services and makes Sujuud to corpses and graves, they still assert that he is the overall Muslim leader in Nigeria, and whoever disobeys him has sinned.

Shaykh Muhammad bn AbdilWahhaab said:

إن هؤلاء الطواغيت الذين يعتقد الناس فيهم وجوب الطاعة من دون الله كلهم كفار مرتدون عن الإسلام كيف لا ، وهم يحلون ما حرم الله ويحرمون ما أحل الله ويسعون في الأرض فسادا بقولهم وفعلم وتأييدهم .ومن جادل عنهم أو زعم أن فعلهم هذا لو كان باطلا لا ينقل إلى الكفر فأقل أحوال هذا المجادل أنه فاسق لأنه لا يصح دين الإسلام إلا بالبراءة من هؤلاء و تكفيرهم

Meaning, “Those Tawaagheet (Kufr leaders and judges) whom the people believe they must be obeyed other than Allah – they are all disbelievers who have apostatized from Islam. Why not (why won’t they be Kuffaar?) Since they make permissible what Allah forbade and they forbid what Allah made permissible and they spread mischief on earth by their words, deeds and support. Therefore, anyone who argues on their behalf or thinks that this action of theirs even if it is wrong it does not take them to the level of Kufr – indeed the least ruling on this arguer is that he is a Faasiq (evil doer) because Islam is not valid except by boycotting those (Kufr leaders) and by declaring them Kuffaar.” [See: Rasaa’il Ash-Shakhsiyyah pg. 188]

Subhaana llaah! But these pastors (Alaro and co.) do say that it is obligatory to obey the democrat leaders who permit Shirk and promote mischief on earth.

Kufr 3: Their refusal to make Takfeer on those whom Allaah declares Kuffaar
عدم تكفير من كفره الله

Their Kufr also manifests in their refusal to make takfeer on the Sufi grave worshipper who became president, Christians who take Jesus as their Lord and God, and their refusal to bear witness that they will abide in hell forever when anyone of them dies upon this false religion.

من لم يكفر المشركين أو شك في كفرهم أو صحح مذهبهم كفر

Meaning, “Whoever avoids to make takfeer on the idol worshippers or is uncertain about their Kufr or authenticates their way, has committed Kufr” [Nawaaqid ul-Islam by Shaykh Muhammad bn AbdilWahhaab]

Kufr 4: Alliance with the Sufis, Christians, Jews and the Atheists
موالاة النصارى واليهود والملحدين

As for the Kufr of taking the Kuffaar as allies Allaah subhaanahu wa ta’aala says:
“O you who believe! Do not take friends from the Jews and the Christians, as they are but friends of each other. And if any among you befriends them, then surely, he is one of them. Verily, Allah guides not those people who are the wrongdoers. And you see those in whose hearts there is a disease, they hurry to their friendship, saying: ‘We fear lest some misfortune of a disaster may befall us.’ Perhaps Allah may bring a victory or a decision according to His will. Then they will become regretful for what they have been keeping as a secret in themselves.” [Al-Maa’idah: 51-52]

Shaykh Hamd bn ‘Ateeq said regarding the Aayah in al-Mumtahinah:

فكم من إنسان لا يقع منه الشرك، ولكنه لا يعادي أهله!! فلا يكون مسلما بذلك، إذا ترك دين جميع المرسلين.

“Many are those who do not commit shirk, however he does not take its people (i.e. the people of shirk) for enemies!! So he is not yet a Muslim for he has abandoned the religion of the Messengers.” [Sabeelun Najaat wal Fikaak Min Muwaalaatil Murtaddeen wal Atraak]

Kufr 5: Criminalizing the Muslims and accusing them of going out of the Deen
تأثيم الموحدين واتهامهم بالمروق من الدين

They criminalize the Muslims for saying democracy is shirk and the democrats are Mushrikeen and they call them Khawaarij for making takfeer on those who commit shirk and blatant Kufr.
Shaykh ‘Abdullaah bn Muhammad bn AbdilWahhaab said:

فإذا كان من أنكر النهي عن الأكل بالشمال أو النهي عن إسبال الثياب – بعد معرفته أن الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم نهى عن ذلك – فهو كافر مرتد وإن كان من أعبد الناس وأزهدهم، فكيف بمن أنكر إخلاص العبادة لله وحده، وإخلاص الدعوة والاستغاثة والنذر والتوكل وغير ذلك من أنواع العبادة التي لا تصلح إلا لله وحده، ولا يصلح منها شيء لملك مقرب ولا نبي مرسل، التي أرسل الله جميع رسله وأنزل جميع كتبه لأجل معرفتها والعمل بها، التي هي أعظم شعائر الإسلام الذي هو معنى لا إله إلا الله، فمن أنكر ذلك وأبغضه وسبه وسب أهله وسماهم الخوارج فهو الكافر حقا الذي يجب قتاله حتى يكون الدين كله لله بإجماع المسلمين كلهم. والله سبحانه وتعالى أعلم.

Meaning, “If someone who denies the prohibition of eating with the left hand or the prohibition of dragging the garments below the ankles, after having known that the Messenger salla llaahu alayhi wa sallam prohibited it – if such person is a Kaafir, an apostate, even if he is from the most steadfast of men in worship and the most ascetic; what about the case of one who denies the (obligation) of making all worships exclusively for Allaah alone, and making all invocations, seeking relief, vowing, reliance and other than these exclusively for Allaah Alone, from among the worships which are not valid except for Allaah alone…. Whoever belies such and hates it, and insults it and its people and calls them Khawaarij, such is the true Kaafir by the consensus of the entire Muslims, who must be fought until all worships is done for Allaah alone.” [See: Al-Kalimaatun Naafi’ah Fil Mukaffiraatil Waaqi’ah]

These are some of their Kufr and shirk, and they fell into several reprehensible bid’ah as well. We ask Allaah to save us from the fitan of these misguided fellows and we seek refuge with Allaah from clear and unclear fitan and from the torment of the Hell, from the torment of the grave, from the trial of life and death and from the evil of the trial of Maseeh -Dajjaal.

I have received the following question from one of the readers of my blog:

(THE QUESTION SAYS)

I am not sure how much you have noticed, but in the West, there is a campaign to undermine your personal credentials as an ‘Alim (Scholar). The all-too-common tactic of attacking the ‘messenger’ rather than the message itself is being employed in these campaigns.

We want to be able to refute any false claims against you and support all of your works, wholeheartedly. Can you please provide us information regarding the Shuyukh (Scholars) that you have learned under in the past, and who you may be currently learning under? As well as the source of your ‘ijaza, etc. This will be very important in refuting any slanderous attacks against your credibility. (End of Question)

ANSWER:

I have received this question in various forms and the frequency of it increased lately. Here is my response: Alhamdulillah I have had the chance to experience the various methods of gaining Islamic knowledge through studying directly under Shuyukh in their general circles or privately. I have experienced the regular academic method of university study, studying by correspondence, and studying directly from books.

STUDYING UNDER SHUYUKH IN THEIR GENERAL CIRCLES:

I have attended the circles of the scholars of Makkah and Madina for a combined period of a few months and for a short while attended the circle of Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen.

STUDYING UNDER SHUYUKH PRIVATELY:

In addition to an ijaza in Quran recitation according to the recitation of Hafs, I have read and completed Sahih al Bukhari with Shaykh AbdulRahman Shumailah al Ahdal and he has given me ijazah to narrate Sahih al Bukhari from him through three high isnaads, one of them being the highest existing isnaad in the world. The other two he has received from his Shuyukh in Makkah.

I have also read and completed Sahih Muslim and al Muwata by Imam Malik with Shaykh AbdulRahman and he has given me ijazah on both books.

I have studied al Minhaaj by Imaam Nawawi on Shafi fiqh with Shaykh AbdulRahman al Ahdal and Shaykh Hamud al Ahdal and received ijaza from both of them.

The above mentioned Shuyukh have also given me ijazah to narrate through their isnaad the six books of Hadith, al Adhkaar by Imaam Nawawi, al Shifa by Qadhi Iyaad, and some other books in Shafi fiqh.

I have studied, traveled and lived with Shaykh Hassan al Ahdal and it was through him that I got to study with other scholars from this blessed family of scholars who are descendants of al Hussain bin Ali may Allah be pleased with them. They are based in al Marawa’ah in Tihama which is in the Western part of Yemen on the coast of the Red Sea and this is the land of the Sahabi Abu Musa al Ash’ari. He has given me a general ijaza in the six books of hadith, Buloogh al Maraam by Ibn Hajjar al Asqalani, Umdat al Ahkaam by al Maqdisi, al Minhaaj by al Nawawi, al Ghaya wal Taqreeb by Abu Shuja, and al Waraqaat by al Juwaini.

I have spent a short time with Shaykh Salman al Odah.

I have benefited considerably from the scholars I met in the US during the 90’s, a time in which there was a great influx of scholars in America.

And last but not least, I have benefited and continue to benefit from the Shaykh whom I trust his deen and know him to be a scholar who does not fear in the sake of Allah and is willing to stand up for the truth, Shaykh Hussein bin Mahfoodh. He is a friend whose relationship with me extends over the years. Until this day, I consult with him on the various important aspects of Sharia that I am presented with and I have continued to benefit from his knowledge and wisdom over the years. I have accompanied him and traveled with him and consider him to be one of the best scholars that I have come to know.

REGULAR ACADEMIC UNIVERSITY STUDY:

In 2002 I was given permission from the administration of the University of Eman in Yemen to attend any class at any level and I took advantage of this and attended classes in Tafsir and Fiqh for a period of a few months. I have also benefited from the teachings of Shaykh Abdul Majid al Zindani the Rector of the University.

STUDYING SHARIA BY CORRESPONDENCE:

I studied for two years through correspondence with the Islamic university in France. I lost interest and discontinued my studies with them because I reached the conclusion that it was not a proper method of disseminating Islamic knowledge. This was in the mid 90’s so things must have changed now in the field of correspondence study due to advances in technology.

STUDYING FROM BOOKS:

After receiving the basics from the scholars and the keys of knowledge, learning from books is a lifelong practice of the seeker of knowledge.

MY IJAZAH:

In addition to the ijaza’s I have mentioned above I have a general ijaza in Quran, Sciences of Quran, Hadith, Sciences of Hadith, Tafsir , Fiqh, Usool Fiqh and Arabic from:

Question:

Assalam aleykum waramatullah, There is one Abu Nasir that did tafsir on Nawawi 40 Hadiths (He is very popular in OAU and unilorin). In one of the lectures, he tried to justify the kufr of not ruling by the Shariah. He said that it is kufr dunna kufr according to ibn Abbas tafsir of this Ayah: “Whoever does not judge by whatever Allah has revealed such are Kuffar”. Secondly he said the gravity of the Sin is like any other Muslim committing Sins like drinking alcohol, Zinna etc. I want the admin to shed more light on this bcos the Tafsir is very among the youth. Jazaka llahu khairan.

I want the admin to shed more light on this bcos Abu Nasir’ tafsir/lecture is very common among the Muslim youth.

Answer:

All praise is due to Allaah the Lord of all that exists, (indeed) the end is for the Muttaqeen (the pious), and let there be no aggression except against the wrongdoers. And may blessings and peace be upon the most noble of the Messengers.

May Allah strengthen you and me upon Tawheed and protect us from the fitnah of the Alarowiyyuun.

Firstly, I advise the students to avoid the lectures of Abu Naasir, he is neither from the scholars nor from the people of Sunnah. He is an Ash’ari with respect to issues of Eemaan. He has extreme levels of ignorance, an example of which is his inability to differentiate between Shirk asghar and Kufr duuna kufr. And when he was asked about the ruling regarding being INEC agent, he said, “I do not know “, despite the fact that he considered democratic election haraam. And from his excessiveness in the religion and his ignorance regarding the principles of bid’ah was his statement that if Jihaad week is bid’ah, the past OAU MSSN executives would not have partaken in it. So his lectures should be avoided and his cassettes should be burnt. Whoever listens to him is simply committing spiritual suicide and we ask Allah for safety.

Shaykh Ahmad Shaakir said about the likes of this Alfa – after authenticating the reports from Ibn ‘Abbaas regarding Kufr duuna Kufr – Shaykh رحمه الله said:

ﻭﻫﺬﻩ ﺍﻵﺛﺎﺭ ﻋﻦ ﺍﺑﻦ ﻋﺒﺎﺱ ﻭﻏﻴﺮﻩ، ﻣﻤﺎ ﻳﻠﻌﺐ ﺑﻪ ﺍﻟﻤﻀﻠﻠﻮﻥ ﻓﻲ ﻋﺼﺮﻧﺎ ﻫﺬﺍ، ﻣﻦ ﺍﻟﻤﻨﺘﺴﺒﻴﻦ ﻟﻠﻌﻠﻢ، ﻭﻣﻦ ﻏﻴﺮﻫﻢ ﻣﻦ ﺍﻟﺠﺮﺁﺀ ﻋﻠﻰ ﺍﻟﺪﻳﻦ : ﻳﺠﻌﻠﻮﻧﻬﺎ ﻋﺬﺭﺍ ﺃﻭ ﺇﺑﺎﺣﺔ ﻟﻠﻘﻮﺍﻧﻴﻦ ﺍﻟﻮﺛﻨﻴﺔ ﺍﻟﻤﻮﺿﻮﻋﺔ، ﺍﻟﺘﻲ ﺿﺮﺑﺖ ﻋﻠﻰ ﺑﻼﺩ ﺍﻹﺳﻼﻡ 

“These reports from Ibn Abbaas and others, which the misleading fellows toy with in our time, from those who ascribe knowledge to themselves, and others who are foolhardy and reckless about the Deen: they make it (the reports of Ibn Abbaas) an excuse or permissibility of setting up pagan laws, which struck the countries of Islam.”

Thereafter, we need to understand the concept of الحكم بغير ما أنزل الله (Judging by other than what Allah has revealed) because the Ulamaa’ would say:

الحكم على شيئ فرع عن تصوره

“Passing judgment on something is dependent on having a proper conception thereof.”

Thus, the word حكم (Hukm) is the root-noun for the verb حكم (Hakama) which could mean قضاء (passing judgment) or تشريع (legislation). As for passing judgment, Allah says in the noble Qur’an:

ﻭَﺃَﻥِ ﺍﺣْﻜُﻢ ﺑَﻴْﻨَﻬُﻢ ﺑِﻤَﺎ ﺃَﻧﺰَﻝَ ﺍﻟﻠَّﻪُ ﻭَﻟَﺎ ﺗَﺘَّﺒِﻊْ ﺃَﻫْﻮَﺍﺀَﻫُﻢْ

“And judge between them by what Allah has revealed and do not follow their inclinations.” [Q 5:39]

As for legislation, Allah ta’aala says:

ﺃَﻡْ ﻟَﻬُﻢْ ﺷُﺮَﻛَٰٓﺆُﺍْ ﺷَﺮَﻋُﻮﺍْ ﻟَﻬُﻢ ﻣِّﻦَ ﭐﻟﺪِّﻳﻦِ ﻣَﺎ ﻟَﻢْ ﻳَﺄْﺫَﻥۢ ﺑِﻪِ ﭐﻟﻠَّﻪُ ۚ

“Or have they other deities who have legislated for them in the religion that which Allah has not permitted?” [Q 42:21]

ﻭَﻻ ﻳُﺸْﺮِﻙُ ﻓِﻲ ﺣُﻜْﻤِﻪِ ﺃَﺣَﺪﺍً ‏

“He shares not His legislation with anyone.” [Q 18:26]

Having understood this, we should also know that الحكم بغير ما أنزل الله (Judging by other than what Allah has revealed) is sometimes used to mean تشريع (legislation) and sometimes to mean قضاء (passing judgment). Thus, when any of the Salaf said judging by other than Allah is Kufr duuna kufr, what he meant is قضاء that is, passing a wrong judgment deliberately is Kufr duuna kufr (i.e. a sin). And when they said it is Kufr Akbar or shirk, what they meant is that making legislation which opposes the Sharee’ah of Allah is Kufr and Shirk.

Al-Imaam Ash-Shanqeeti says:

ﻓﺎﻹﺷﺮﺍﻙ ﺑﺎﻟﻠﻪ ﻓﻲ ﺣﻜﻤﻪ ﻛﺎﻹﺷﺮﺍﻙ ﺑﻪ ﻓﻲ ﻋﺒﺎﺩﺗﻪ ، ﻗﺎﻝ ﻓﻲ ﺣﻜﻤﻪ ((ﻭَﻻَ ﻳُﺸﺮِﻙُ ﻓﻲِ ﺣُﻜﻤِﻪِ ﺃَﺣَﺪﺍً))… ﻭﻗﺎﻝ ﻓﻲ ﺍﻹﺷﺮﺍﻙ ﺑﻪ ﻓﻲ ﻋﺒﺎﺩﺗﻪ : ((ﻓَﻤَﻦ ﻛَﺎﻥَ ﻳَﺮﺟُﻮﺍْ ﻟِﻘَﺂﺀَ ﺭَﺑِّﻪِ ﻓَﻠﻴَﻌﻤَﻞ ﻋَﻤَﻼً ﺻَﺎﻟِﺤﺎً ﻭَﻻَ ﻳُﺸﺮِﻙْ بِعِبَادَةِ رَبِهِ أَحَدَا)) ، ﻓﺎﻷﻣﺮﺍﻥ ﺳﻮﺍﺀ

“… associating partners with Allah in His Rule is the same as associating partners with Him in His worship. Regarding His Rule He said: [and He makes none to share in His Rule] (Al-kahf: 26) …Concerning associating partners with Him in His worship, He said: [so whoever hopes for the meeting with his Lord, let him work righteousness and associate none as a partner in the worship of his Lord] (Al-Kahf: 110) [Adwaa’ul-Bayaan], therefore, the two issues are the same.

Shaykh Ahmad Shaakir ﺭﺣﻤﻪ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ also said:

ﺇﻥ ﺍﻷﻣﺮ ﻓﻲ ﻫﺬﻩ ﺍﻟﻘﻮﺍﻧﻴﻦ ﺍﻟﻮﺿﻌﻴﺔ ﻭﺍﺿﺢ ﻭﺿﻮﺡ ﺍﻟﺸﻤﺲ ، ﻫﻲ ﻛﻔﺮ ﺑﻮﺍﺡ ﻻ ﺧﻔﺎﺀ ﻓﻴﻪ ﻭﻻ ﻣﺪﺍﻭﺭﺓ ﻭﻻ ﻋﺬﺭ ﻷﺣﺪ ﻣﻤﻦ ﻳﻨﺘﺴﺐ ﻟﻺﺳﻼﻡ ـ ﻛﺎﺋﻨﺎ ﻣﻦ ﻛﺎﻥ ـ ﻓﻲ ﺍﻟﻌﻤﻞ ﺑﻬﺎ ﺃﻭ ﺍﻟﺨﻀﻮﻉ ﻟﻬﺎ ﺃﻭ ﺇﻗﺮﺍﺭﻫﺎ ﻓﻠﻴﺤﺬﺭ ﺍﻣﺮﺅ ﻟﻨﻔﺴﻪ ﻭﻛﻞ ﺍﻣﺮﺉ ﺣﺴﻴﺐ ﻧﻔﺴﻪ.

“The issue with respect to the man-made laws is crystal clear. It is a blatant disbelief, nothing is hidden in it, and there is no excuse for anyone who attributes themselves to Islam, whoever they may be, to act according to it or to submit to it or to approve of it. So each person should beware and every person is responsible for himself. So the ulama should make the truth clear and tell what they have been ordered to tell without concealing anything.” [‘Umdat ut-Tafseer 4/174]

Shaykh Muhammad bn Ibraheem rahimahu llaah said:

“As for that about which it is said ‘Kufr duuna Kufr’, (it is) when one refers to other than Allah for judgment, while believing that he is sinful and that the Hukm of Allah is the truth. Thus, this occurs from him on an occasion and the likes. However, as for he who sets up man-made laws as a system, and compels others to submit to them, then this is Kufr, even if they say: ‘we have made a mistake and the Sharee’ah is more just.’ This is the Kufr that removes one from the Millah (i.e. Al-Islam).” [Majmoo’ Fataawa: 12/280]

Abu Naasir is blind?!

Al-Imaam Ash-Shanqeeti also says:

ﻭﺑﻬﺬﻩ ﺍﻟﻨﺼﻮﺹ ﺍﻟﺴﻤﺎﻭﻳﺔ ﺍﻟﺘﻲ ﺫﻛﺮﻧﺎﻫﺎ ﻳﻈﻬﺮ ﻏﺎﻳﺔ ﺍﻟﻈﻬﻮﺭ ﺃﻥ ﺍﻟﺬﻳﻦ ﻳﺘﺒﻌﻮﻥ ﺍﻟﻘﻮﺍﻧﻴﻦ ﺍﻟﺘﻲ ﺷﺮﻋﻬﺎ ﺍﻟﺸﻴﻄﺎﻥ ﻋﻠﻰ ﺃﻟﺴﻨﺔ ﺃﻭﻟﻴﺎﺋﻪ ﻣﺨﺎﻟﻔﺔ ﻟﻤﺎ ﺷﺮﻋﻪ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻋﺰ ﻭﺟﻞ ﻋﻠﻰ ﺃﻟﺴﻨﺔ ﺭﺳﻠﻪ ﺻﻠﻰ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻋﻠﻴﻬﻢ ﻭﺳﻠﻢ ﺃﻧﻪ ﻻ ﻳﺸﻚ ﻓﻲ ﻛﻔﺮﻫﻢ ﻭﺷﺮﻛﻬﻢ ﺇﻻ ﻣﻦ ﻃﻤﺲ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻋﻠﻰ ﺑﺼﻴﺮﺗﻪ ﻭﺃﻋﻤﺎﻩ ﻋﻦ ﻧﻮﺭ ﺍﻟﻮﺣﻲ ﻣﺜﻠﻬﻢ.

“And with these heavenly texts we have mentioned, it becomes quiet clear that the ones who follow fabricated laws, which the Shaytan has legislated upon the tongues of his Awliya and which oppose that which Allah has legislated upon the tongues of His messengers, peace be upon them, that no one doubts their Kufr and their Shirk except him whom Allah has removed his sight and has blinded them to the light of the revelation as they are.” [Adwaa’ul-Bayaan 4/92]

Wa salla llaahu wa sallam ala Muhammad wa aalihi wa sahbihi wa sallam.

Another Questioner cuts in:

How is he an ash’ari in aspect of eemaan?

Answer:

He defines Eemaan as sayings, actions and intentions but he however said that one will not cease to be Muslim even when one of the three is missing. This is exactly the Aqeedah of the Ashaa’irah with respect to Eemaan. [His Ranting on Usulu Sunnah of Imam Ahmad Tape 14/12:50]

As for Ahlus Sunnah, Eemaan is sayings, actions and intentions and someone can never be a Muslim when any of the three is missing.

For instance, someone who utters laa ilaaha illa llaah and believes that no one is worthy of worship except Allah however, he does not worship Allah (i.e. action is missing) such a person is a Kaafir just like Iblees.

And if someone utters laa ilaaha illa llaah and worships Allah alone but he does not believe in his heart that only Allah is worthy of worship, such person is a Kaafir just like the Kufr of the Munaafiquun.

Imam ash-Shaafi’ee states:

“ ﻭﻛﺎﻥ ﺍﻹﺟﻤﺎﻉ ﻣﻦ ﺍﻟﺼﺤﺎﺑﺔ ﻭﺍﻟﺘﺎﺑﻌﻴﻦ ﻣﻦ ﺑﻌﺪﻫﻢ ﻭﻣﻦ ﺃﺩﺭﻛﻨﺎﻫﻢ ﻳﻘﻮﻟﻮﻥ : ﺍﻹﻳﻤﺎﻥ ﻗﻮﻝ ﻭﻋﻤﻞ ﻭﻧﻴﺔ ﻻ ﻳﺠﺰﺉ ﻭﺍﺣﺪ ﻣﻦ ﺍﻟﺜﻼﺙ ﺇﻻ ﺑﺎﻷﺧﺮ .”

“There is consensus among the Sahaabah, the Taabi’een, and those whom we met, they all said: Eemaan is sayings, actions and intentions, and none of these three can exist without the others.” [Majmuu’ al-Fataawa, vol.7, p.209]

Shaykh Muhammad bn Abdil-Wahhab [May Allah have mercy on him] stated that:

“ ﻻ ﺧﻼﻑ ﺃﻥ ﺍﻟﺘﻮﺣﻴﺪ ﻻ ﺑﺪ ﺃﻥ ﻳﻜﻮﻥ ﺑﺎﻟﻘﻠﺐ ﻭﺍﻟﻠﺴﺎﻥ ﻭﺍﻟﻌﻤﻞ، ﻓﺈﻥ ﺍﺧﺘﻞ ﺷﻴﺊ ﻣﻦ ﻫﺬﺍ ﻟﻢ ﻳﻜﻦ ﺍﻟﺮﺟﻞ ﻣﺴﻠﻤﺎ . ﻓﺈﻥ ﻋﺮﻑ ﺍﻟﺘﻮﺣﻴﺪ ﻭﻟﻢ ﻳﻌﻤﻞ ﺑﻪ ﻓﻬﻮ ﻛﺎﻓﺮ ﻣﻌﺎﻧﺪ ﻛﻜﻔﺮ ﻓﺮﻋﻮﻥ ﻭﺇﺑﻠﻴﺲ ﻭﺃﻣﺜﺎﻟﻬﻤﺎ .”

“There is no dispute that Tawheed has to be with the Heart and Tongue and Action. If one of these lacks, the man no longer remains a Muslim. So if he knows Tawheed but does not act in its accordance then he is a stubborn Kaafir, similar in Kufr to Fir’awn, Iblees, and their likes”. [Kashf-ash-Shubahaat]
