::: Salafiyyah Al-Haqeeqiyyah (Authentic Salafiyyah) ::: (Edited)
In the name of Allah the most beneficient the most merciful
It was narrated from Mu’aawiyah ibn Abi Sufyaan (may Allaah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) stood among us and said:
“Those who came before you of the people of the Book split into seventy-two sects, and this ummah will split into seventy-three: seventy- two in Hell and one in Paradise, and that is the jamaa’ah (main body of Muslims).”
Narrated by Abu Dawood (4597) and others; classed as saheeh by al-Haakim (1/128), who said: it is an important hadeeth that represents a basic principle.
It was classed as hasan by Ibn Hajar in Takhreej al-Kashshaaf (63).
It was classed as saheeh by Ibn Taymiyah in Majmoo’ al- Fataawa (3/345), al-Shaatibi in al-I’tisaam (1/430), and al-‘Iraaqi in Takhreej al- Ihya’ (9/133).
Today, truth has become mixed with falsehood and during those days before the emergence of the sects, it was sufficient to identify yourself as a muslim and by that you’ve explained your self and your creed. However, with the emergence of the deviants from the Khawaarij, the Shia, and the Murjiah who attempted to rectify evil but with a greater evil and several other sects, it became important to explain where you belong as an authentic muslim by saying “I’m from Ahlu Sunnah wal Jama’ah” meaning the people who follow the tradition of the prophet and stick to the main body of muslims.
However, with the passage of time, several of these deviant sects would also identify themselves with this beautiful name and today we see the Shia would also say they are upon the Sunnah and the Tableeghees, the Ikhwaanees and their hizbee comrades, and the Suufiyah and the Alasalatus would also call themselves ahlusunnah.
Due to the deviations of these people, it became important to distinguish the correct Islam from their deviations and purify Islam and the muslims from their errors so we see scholars of truth explaining to us that following the Sunnah is to do that based upon the understanding of the Salaf (the pious predecessors) and that means we perform every bit of Islam the same way the prophet and the Salaf performed it and that is Salafiyyah which is adhering to the path of the Salaf, althoug the word Salafiyyah had been in use for a long time in Islamic history and only recently since the period of Shaykhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah, it became very important to emphasize it.
Today however, we see that some deviant groups have also attached themselves to this name and we see from the Madkhaliyah, Surooriyyah, and the Halaabiyyuun all attaching themselves to Salafiyyah and for this reason the Rabaani scholars have explained the need to clear Islam from their errors hence the need to affirm that Jihad is part of Islam and can never be separated from it and the Salaf never separated Jihad from Islam and this is the right path, the path of Salafiyyah and Jihad and if you like call it “Tawheed wal Jihad” or “Salafiyyah ala aatharil Jihad”
The first meaning the path of the Salaf with Jihad inclusive and the second meaning Montheism and Jihad (this is what Sheikh Muhammad described himself with when he led the Mujahideen to conquer Makkah on the 8th of Muharam 1218 AH.) and the third meaning Salafiyyah on the path of Jihad and all mean and refer to the same thing.
This is due to the fact that all those deviant sects who claim Salafiyyah try in one way or the other to dodge the obligation of Jihad and some factions even denounce the obligation and some do not denouce it but would bring in baseless excuses just to protect themselves from this honourabale obligation.
How did this fake Salafees emerge?
Prior to the 1990s there was just a single brand of Salafiyyah which was pure and clear with no ambiguities and not a single act of worship was excluded from Islam and this was so up until 1996 such that Sheikh Rabee al Madkhalee encouraged his students in Kunar (an eastern province of Afghanistan) to join the Taliban Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and prior to that when the Mujadid (of Fiqh of Jihaad) of this century Sheikh Abdullah Azzaam wrote his famous treatise “In defense of the Muslim land” where he gave a Fatwah that Jihad today is Fardu ayn (individual obligation) we see all the scholars of Salafiyyah signing it and endorsing it and Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen signed it and Sheikh Ibn Baaz also did and promised to write a Muqadimmah but couldn’t due to busy schedule and everything was fine. But when the Jihad became against America and started affecting their watch dogs from the family of Saood, there started coming strange Fataawah and we see some scholars condemning the Mujahideen leaders and some started rubbishing the whole Jihad and a new “sect” was formed which supported Jihad for as long as it is not against America or the Saudi government and due to the corrupt foundation of this group they became more and more deviant over time and today they have come up with some major Bid’ah which are:
1. No more Jihad today
2. Believing that the Saudi state is an Islamic one is a condition to be a Salafi
3. A new definition for the Khawaarij which is that “anybody who believes that Jihad today is Fardu ayn is a Khawaarij”
[and this is one of the most ridiculous of their slogans]
4. We MUST not fight the Kuffar because of what? We don’t have as much weapons as they do
5. It’s the Jihad that makes the Kuffar to insult the Prophet and if we stop fighting them they will not insult the prophet anymore
[they forgot that it’s the norm right from time for the Kuffar to insult the prophet, Islam and Allah examples abound in history]
6. There is no amount of Kufr action a person does, he does not become a Kaafir until he claims that the action is good.
to mention few from their innovated beliefs and actions. So, if you see anybody with the above believes, know that he is an innovator and a FAKE Salafee and beware of such a person for -as the scholars explained-they corrupt the religion from within and they are worst than the Khawarij for the Daawah of the Khawaarij is always a secret one which they hardly say in public but these people say theirs in public because it sounds good and correct to the ignorants and promotes a peaceful life with no stress at all, just get a fine Jalabia, a nice miswaak attend the halaqaat, live within the Kuffar in Daarul harb and work for the Kuffar even if it affects Islam and harms the muslims in other lands it doesn’t matter as long as you wear a long beard or you use a beautiful niqaab and you can even report the “troublesome muslims” to the Kuffar agents and so on and that is their Islam, that is what they call Salafiyyah!
No! by Allah this is false and it’s not true! this is the Islam of Bid’ah!
Far! far! removed are we from this distortion!
So, O brothers and sisters, it’s important to distinguish true Islam from this and always attach Jihad to your Salafiyyah and this is the furqaan which separates truth from falsehood because there is no single fake Salafi except that when he hears the word Jihad, or sees a Mujahid, he becomes angry and upset and he doesn’t become angry at all when he sees a Kufr policeman or a Kufr soldier especially a member of the American Army and he might even smile with them and hug them if they are families and he might even shake hands with them, the hands they use to slaughter muslims and that’s no big deal to him but when you remind him of the word Jihad, he brings the dictionary and gets very rude and abusive and that is the way of Salafiyyah???
So, when someone meets you and asks of your religion you might say “A Muslim” simple! especially if the questioner is a Kaafir but if it’s a muslim questioner, it would not be enough and saying you are upon the Sunnah would not be enough likewise is saying you are upon Salafiyyah not enough because there are several counterfeit Salafees out there but say: “I’m a Salafee and believe in Jihad”
there is a brother who would say : “Ana Muslimun Sunniyun Salafiyun Jihadiyun” meaning “I’m a Muslim, upon the Sunnah, a Salafee and a believer in Jihad” and what a beautiful combination.
In Yoruba land however, some people take a Salafee to be a trouble maker and this is due to misconception and bad experience with rough young boys.
Inshaa’a lloh I’ll be explaining what Salafiyyah is all about so that by Allah’s will and permission we can all become Salafees and not fake Salafees but Salafee Jihadees which is all about being upon the way of the Salaf without excluding Jihad just as some deviants have done.
May Allah make it a beneficial one and let us die on this path of Salafiyyah and on the battle field of Jihad.
